Inspector Gadget Mock Poster by ChrisLeroux Inspector Gadget Mock Poster by ChrisLeroux
Everyone hates the Inspector Gadget movies simply because the source material wasn't respected. The acting was horrible, and the characters were modified. It just didn't feel like Gadget. I made this as a tribute to the series, and who I think would be a fantastic Gadget. Steve Carell is truly the Don Adams of our time. I know we live in a time of crappy film remakes, but this is one that needs a second try.

Like all of my other photomanipulations this poster took several hours and is a collection of over 50 images at least. Much of the project was painful to do but everything paid off. This is by far my favorite piece of all that I've ever done.

If you have suggestions for other projects, leave em' in the comments section.

I think Steve Carell is a great choice for Gadget, and I have to agree: Christopher Nolan is a brilliant director, but he's not suited for Inspector Gadget. I was thinking of someone more like Shawn Levy (the director of Night at the Museum) or even have Steve reunite with Peter Segal (the director of Get Smart).

Jeffrey Jones is a good choice, but what about J.K. Simmons as Chief Quimby? As for Penny, I think ChloŽ Grace Moretz is a great choice. Just out of curiosity, who did you cast John Goodman as, and what font did you use for 'Steve Carell is...' and 'July 23'?

Also, this is only my opinion, but I actually liked the second live action movie, because I felt that it was MORE faithful to the original cartoon than the first movie was, despite a couple of nitpicks, and the fact that the talking Gadgetmobile returns, but I felt that he was LESS annoying than he was in the first movie.

Thanks for the favorite!

As for the actor selection, besides Carell, everything shouldn't be taken too seriously. I think I chose Nolan as a joke more than anything as the hardcore fanboys want him to do every movie. I think with Jeffrey Jones I had just watched "Ferris Bueller", and Chloe Moretz after "Kick-Ass". I have no clue who I'd cast John Goodman as, but that dude's just awesome.

I think I hated the second film simply because it felt all around cheap, but also because the story was horrible and ignored most of the first film in many respects. Yeah, maybe it did fall more in line with the original cartoon, but I can't get over French Stewart. The dude's been playing the same character since the 90's.

He's a great director, but I don't think he'd be the right guy for this.

Get someone who wrote 80's-90's saturday morning cartoons to write the script and a great comedic director.

I really disliked the movie as well... It was just facepalm after facepalm.
Bravo on this poster, though! It looks very professional!
